“Life’s like a road that you travel on, when there’s one day here and the next day gone.” – Tom Cochrane
Today was my first day really driving my car since I got it registered and everything. I’m not going to lie it was kind of terrifying being behind the wheel again after not driving for approximately 7 months and not being familiar with driving in Florida. It was scary, but it felt really freeing at the same time. It was nice to be able just to just go somewhere without depending on a bus, Uber, or someone else.
I kept thinking today how lucky I am to live down here. As a child I used to dream about big cities and places and now I get to live in Florida one of the biggest states and I get to explore it. Yes, I’ve technically lived here for over half a year because of the Disney College Program, but during my program I didn’t really get to explore Florida besides Disney. Now with a car I have the opportunity to do so and that to me is so exciting! I love exploring and when I make more money I want to travel.
It’s weird as a child I never knew where I’d be in life at this age. I mean I dreamed of being a famous singer haha but I never would have imagined I’d work for Disney for one or that I’d live in Florida. It’s funny life doesn’t take you where you’d expect, but I honestly love that it does that. I also know that this is just the beginning!
I have so much more that I’m going to do. My dreams are huge; however I know with my hard work and determination I will get there. It’s cheesy but life is really like a highway as in the song. You have your destination, but there will be stuff along your way. There will be car crashes, road blocks, construction, twist and turns. You will go through and see so much before you get to your destination, but that’ll make the destination that more important when you do get there.
So my advice to you as you take this journey called life. Enjoy your road to your destination. Crank up your music, dance/sing to the songs, take those you love with you, and just take in all the views you see.
You got this,
