Positively Optimistic Day #14- It’s Ok, To Not Be Ok

You ever have something just hurt you? Something you wished didn’t, but no matter what you try it just does? That has been me today. Over something that is so silly. I’ve been telling myself constantly “just get over it” or “it’s not a big deal.” I have been trying to stop myself from feeling sad about it.

The truth is though sometimes it’s alright to be sad. I’m not saying all the time. Now that is not ok. But sometimes stuff happens in life and you need the chance to just cry it out. It’s silly but all of this makes me think of the Movie Inside Out where Joy tries to keep all the memories happy. Yet we learn throughout the movie that it’s normal to feel different emotions about different things.

Even though yes I’m going to look on the bright side I’m still going to let myself cry about things once in a while because that’s healthy. Saying that happiness is the only thing you can feel will just drive you into insanity. Trust me haha.

If you’re going something that hurts you no matter how big or small other people may view it just allow yourself time to be upset. Let yourself cry when you watch Titanic. Let yourself be sad when you lose a friend. Then when you are done letting it out you can go back to kicking butt and taking names.

Allow yourself to be human darling, it’s ok. I’ll write you all tomorrow,
