Positively Optimistic: Day #16: Dreaming Like a Child

“Never give up on what you really want to do. The person with big dreams is more powerful than the one with all the facts.”- H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

Ever since I can remember there is one thing that was always prominent in my life, and that was movies. Most of the first memories I ever remember are from watching movies. Everyday of my childhood there was always a television on. As a child I became very interested in story lines and characters.  I was so inspired by them that I would try to create my own stories whenever I wasn’t watching a movie. Watching these movies inspired me to dream about absolutely everything.
If I could have gotten paid to daydream I would be a billionaire at this point. My head was always up in the clouds. Growing up never having any money I didn’t get to do many things that other kids got to do at my age. Then I discovered that I could just dream about it then it was like I already had it. Sure, maybe I didn’t actually physically do those things, but in my imagination I did and that kept me hopeful that whatever I imagined would become mine someday in the future.
Later on as I grew up though I realized some of the things I fantasized about were sometimes a lot better in my imagination. Like Kidz Bop for example. I thought that it would be the real artists singing the songs. NOPE. I discovered in the 5th grade from my cousins that it was just little kids singing. I was relived at that point I was too poor to avoid it.
One thing I constantly imagined as a little child is that I would get the opportunity to go to the theme parks that were advertised before the movies came on. I would see a Disney or Universal commercial, and I promised myself one day I would get to go there. Little did I know that one day I would be working for those parks and get in with free admission whenever I wanted. All I wanted as a child was to be able to go to them at least once. Now I am so fortunate to be able to live in Florida where it’s just simply a drive away.
I’m no where near where I want to be with my dreams. However my point is many people say how they wish they could do these jobs, but they don’t go after it. It’s not that they can’t they just choose to not do it. If I didn’t let myself dare to dream then I know I would not be where I am today without doing so. Letting yourself dream is so important.
If you have a dream don’t let anyone in the way of it. People will probably look down on you or tell you that you are crazy. Well most of the most successful people of all time went through that so I think you are on track. There will also be people who will put you down or say that it’s impossible. Don’t worry because those people are the ones who just stay in their average lives too afraid to do anything. Don’t let them make you feel like you aren’t good enough. Honestly feel bad for them, because they are probably jealous that they didn’t have enough guts to go after what they want.
Once you have your dream. Don’t just sit there like most people. Get off your coach and just do it. JUST DO IT!!! Yeah you could fail, but look at Einstein he has been said to fail countless times; yet I don’t see anyone saying he failed in the long run. We all have the same decision in life either we are either going to go after what we want or we are going to sit in the sidelines of wishing that we actually did it. I don’t know about you, but I much rather be the first one. What’s stopping you then? Go after your dreams dreamer.

Bye until tomorrow,

Amber ❤️❤️❤️
