Positively Optimistic Day #24- My Secret Life Exposed

“I thought about how there are two types of secrets: the kind you want to keep in, and the kind you don’t dare to let out.”- Ally Carter

We all have secrets. Things we hide from the world. Battles no one knows about. I have always tried to be open about my problems as I hope they will help other people, but I even have secrets.

I know hands down most people would not believe some of the things I could tell you that I’ve kept hidden from the world. Isn’t that why you clicked to read this? You want to know what my secrets are?

I bet a lot of you coming from my Facebook haven’t even looked at my other blogs I’ve posted. You just clicked because you are curious. Yet maybe in the back of your mind you clicked because unconsciously you wanted to know my secrets so you knew you weren’t the only one hiding something. And let’s be honest you wanted to judge haha. Which we all do at some degree let’s be real. Funny we want to hear others secrets yet we are afraid to expose are own in fear of judgement.

I honestly feel so bad for celebrities. I don’t blame Britney Spears for having a meltdown many years ago. I think most people would considering almost all of us have things we don’t want to share with the world. Celebrities don’t always have that luxury of keeping those things we keep secret; a secret. Then millions of people around the world criticize them. Yet if those people took a good look at their own lives they’d realize they have no right to judge.

As I think about this I think of that story from the Bible where Jesus tells them that those without sin can cast the first stone. This is why it bugs me when I see some Christians being so judgmental. You know Jesus hung around people no one really liked? He didn’t judge these people. He showed them love which we all could learn from.

The point is all of us have things we hide from the world. We all have battles we hide from everyone. I can guarantee if we all put everything we hide out in the world no one would look at each other the same. Yet at the same time we’d also realize we are not alone and that we all have issues people have no idea about.

You know the most popular girl at school? Well did you know she was raped when she was a child? You know that pastor? Well he used to be an alcoholic. You see that woman you call too skinny? Well that same woman was bullied about being too heavy. You know your friend who’s recovered from being a drug addict? They have slipped without you knowing. You know that person you called weak at the gym? They’ve gotten the news that they only have approximately a year left to live. I could give so many examples, but you get the point. We all have demons. We all have battles. We all have secrets.

We have no idea what someone has been through. And even if you did get the honor of knowing someone’s secret..you still have no idea what that must have felt like unless you went through it yourself. That also goes for your life. People can listen, but only you can truly understand.

I’m here to tell you we all got things. So don’t feel like you are alone because we are all dealing with something. And I just want to say for all the secret battles you all are dealing with you are all so strong and I’m proud of you for the victories you have in life that no one knows about because you keep them a secret. You are amazing! You are wonderful! And it makes you an undercover hero. You are also da bomb! Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

Write to you lovelies tomorrow,

Amber ❤️❤️❤️
