Positively Optimistic Day #71- I See a Pattern

A change in bad habits leads to a change in life. -Jenny Craig

Yesterday I realized I have an old negative pattern about some things in my life. It’s not like it was my intention to be negative, but every time this pattern happens it always has a negative effect on me. Yet I continue doing it.

I wonder if any of you all get this way to sometimes. You do something thinking it will make you feel better, but it’s always the same result. Maybe you date the same type of guy expecting a different result. Maybe you don’t study for a test and think you’ll somehow get a better grade. Maybe you get in arguments with people trying to prove your point is right, but it always just leaves you both feeling like crap.

Those are just some examples, but you get the point. I don’t think any of us go out and say “Oh boy! I’m going to do all of this so I can have more negative things come my way.” We do them out of habits or thinking “Oh it’ll be different this time.” But it never is!

I’ve decided today I want to put a stop to letting myself do things like that. That may seem to do no harm at the time, but I overall know that they’ll hurt me in the end. I think also limiting things and finding balance is something that I also need to work on.

One example of this is I often spend way too much time on social media. Social media has many benefits, but too often we spend all our time on it and then it becomes a con instead of a pro. I’m sure many of you ladies and even gentlemen probably have looked on instagram or another platform and compared yourself to someone else. Social media is a lot like looking at a magazine or talking to that one neighbor that seems to have the biceps and woman seem to swoon over him.

I have decided to cut back on how much I use Facebook especially. I love how it keeps me in contact with my family and friends that are all around the world, but at the same time I get way too wrapped up in it that I forget why I wanted to use it. This all ties back into changing the patterns. I know I spend way too much time on social media and if I do it will have negative consequences yet somehow I still do it and it needs to stop.

I’m challenging all of you and myself to find something in your life that is bringing you down by your pattern and either cut it out completely or limit to how much it controls your life. You have the power to change anything in your life that you want to. So break that negative cycle..before you let it break you.

I hope you all are having a fantastic day!

Write again tomorrow,

Amber ❤️❤️❤️
