Seek and You Will Find

One day I was driving in my car and I noticed that I just kept thinking negative thought after negative thought. Sometimes our thoughts are very flowy that we don’t notice that how what we are thinking about is really affecting us. That was one of those moments that I actually was very self aware and caught myself. I was feeling so sad that day, but then I thought to myself “how is my thinking”. Of course, my thinking was absolute trash.

A little voice inside my head then said “seek and you shall find”. For all of us who have grew up in church or are currently Christian we know this is a scripture from the Bible. I’ve heard that scripture for a good portion of my life; however, in that moment those words spoke to me in a way that they never had before. I realized in the moment that the things I looked for in my life I was going to attract into my life.

At the time of me in the car thinking negatively I had gone through a situation where I felt like a guy had used and manipulated me. I was very upset because it has felt like a continuous pattern with relationships in my life. With what I’m about to say just take note that I’m not saying I’m excusing any guys behavior. No guy or person in general should treat anyone like crap; however, in that moment it occurred to me that maybe I was the one attracting those kind of people into my life. Maybe just maybe I was the one attracting these kind of men into my life by the way I was thinking. If I look back at all of these different times of my life when I attracted these guys at some level subconsciously or not I was not feeling worthy. I felt less then and I felt that I couldn’t find anyone better. That I wasn’t the type of woman that could find a good man. That I wasn’t deserving of someone who would treat me right. I also had a story throughout my life that people would always leave me for someone else. And guess what because I thought like that they did.

I’m telling you all, all of this because I want to show you an example that if you think and believe to your core that something like that will happen then it probably will. You attract what you believe and seek out in your reality. If you tell yourself to look out for red cars when you are driving you will see more red cars. It is because your mind is focused on it. Your brain will always look to find things that it is fixated on. This applies to any area of your life. If you focus on how you have no money. Guess what? You will continue to be poor. You focus on how horrible your life is? Guess what? You’ll see all the ways of why it is horrible. What you seek you will find.

The good part of this whole thing is though is that it can positively affect your life as much as it can negatively affect your life. When you start changing your thoughts and what you seek to find in your life you will see your whole reality shift. When you start telling yourself positive things about yourself and build up your confidence you will notice how you start to change and the people around you start to change as well. When you believe good things will happen to you and that you are worthy of beautiful things those things will appear into your life.

The overall lesson in all of this is that what you focus on, seek, dwell on will determine your reality. You can change this at any moment by just deciding. Deciding in this moment you are going to change your mindset to change your life. If you are stuck seeking the negative just know and remember you have the strength within you to make this change to a positive mindset whether you believe it or not. You got the power. You got the ability. You can do this.
